Barton Creek Resort – Fazio Canyon Course: Review

Fazio Canyon

This is the first of the four courses built at the Barton Creek CC in Austin, TX. The layout features large sloping greens, elevation changes from tee to green and a variety of fairway and greenside bunkers. It also gives you the flavor of  the Texas Hill Country with it’s streams and creeks meander throughout the entire course, past limestone-bedded canyons and beautiful Hill Country vistas. With five sets of tees, this course poses a challenge for golfers of all abilities.

If you love extremely putt-able greens, beautiful landscape and 5 star accommodations you will love the Barton Creek Resort and it’s courses. They have four now including another Fazio course just up on the hill from the Canyons location. The Crenshaw course is just right across the street and the Palmer course is out by the lake. Just minutes from Downtown Austin you might want to pack your boots as well as your best golf shoes.  If you really want to enjoy the course for the first time, play the forward tees. Unless you are a very skilled player, don’t even think about playing the championship tees.
